Michigan is a state in the United States, located in the Great Lakes region. This state is known as the birthplace of the automotive industry. Its postal abbreviation is MI. Composed of two peninsulas, the water surface separating the two peninsulas is called the Mackinaw Waterway. The south is the lower peninsula, which is the main body of the state and has a large area. The western half of the southern part of the country is in Indiana; the eastern half is connected to Ohio.
